Special webinar - Israel & Palestine: Pathways to Peace

On Wednesday, October 9th, “Europe Calling” held a special webinar together with Campact, our sister organization in Germany. Raluca Ganea, our Executive Director, participated along with Dr. Rula Hardal, co-CEO of A Land for All, Maoz Inon, peace activist and entrepreneur, and journalist and peace activist Aziz Abu Sarah. In the webinar, we had a fascinating discussion about paths to peace, especially now, a year after the October 7th massacre and the ongoing, devastating war.
We see this webinar as an important opportunity to influence public discourse around the world, in the USA and across Europe and add nuances to the polarized zero-sum narratives that demand total – and futile – loyalty to one side.
Just this week, we received yet another painful reminder of the futility of continuing the war without a political horizon – after a year of intense fighting, Hamas is still able to launch rockets at central Israel. The humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens while the negotiations for a hostage deal were stopped. Residents of south Lebanon and the north of Israel are uprooted from their homes while the war escalates and spreads to further fronts. We are here to remind everyone that there can be no other choice but ending the war and reaching a peace deal to ensure life, security, and freedom.
