Planting Hope – Planting Olive Trees in Kfar Hussan
19/01/25
On Friday, January 17th, we set out to plant olive trees in the village of Kfar Hussan near Bethlehem, along with our partners from 'Rabbis for Human Rights.' Since last October, settlers have chopped down, burned, and uprooted over 600 olive trees, which provide farmers with livelihood and food. Due to the destruction of trees, this planting season is critical, and the support of our activists is what enables us to respond to the Palestinian farmers.
Thanks to the support of hundreds of activists who financed seedlings and transportation, as well as the dozens of acivists who came to the action itself, we stood in solidarity with the Palestinian farmers, who face settler violence and Jewish terrorism every week, planting about 150 olive trees.
It is touching to see that even during these chaotic times, when the West Bank is ablaze and the government and army support the attackers, abandoning the Palestinian residents without protection – our activists continue to come to the terrain. In face of harassment, messianism, and hatred – this is our response! To plant, to act together, to not give up, and to build a shared future together. This is what hope looks like.
