We Demanded Humanitarian Aid for Gaza

14/03/24

"My parents were murdered on October 7th, but there are Israeli hostages in Gaza that are still alive... I'm demonstrating today because we cannot accept the situation in which hostages and Gaza residents are dying of hunger. In retrospect, it will be clear that humanitarian aid is a moral duty - and I want as many people as possible to understand it right now."

This is what Yotam, Zazim campaigner,  said during our protest at the Ashdod Port, in which we called for letting humanitarian aid into Gaza and projected on a truck a video clip showing the humanitarian catastrophe and human suffering in Gaza. In response, right-wing activists attacked us and tore up our banners, after trying all week to prevent the protest.

But thanks to hundreds of Zazim members, who supported the protest and took part in it, we raised a voice of compassion and humaneness - and we will continue to do so with everything we’ve got.

The situation in Gaza is deteriorating every day and children are dying of hunger. Israel continues to prevent the supply of water and basic needs, and is not letting enough aid in: neither for Gazans nor for the Israeli hostages.

Since the beginning of the war, our community has been fighting for those who were impacted the most: Tens of thousands have joined our calls for the immediate release of the hostages and a humanitarian corridor in Gaza, and thousands demanded to prevent civilian casualties in the Strip.

The far-right’s threats won’t stop us - today, our community is more important than ever and we need your support to keep fighting for human lives: Chip in
